Jason: Guitar, Synth, and Vocals

Jason comes from a musical family. At an early age he was exposed to different genres of music and luminaries in the fields of jazz, rock, pop R&B, and soul. This experience led him to pursue music, and he began playing various instruments as a teenager.

Switching from playing bass to guitar, he sought out the premiere guitarist in the area who also taught, and was told to learn scales. Thinking he didn't need to learn scales, he dropped out after three lessons.

During the early 1980's, in the midst of the guitar renaissance brought on by Eddie Van Halen, he had several jobs in audio and lighting and these skills made it possible to tour with the U.S. Army Band, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, Hank Williams, Jr. and Ace Frehley among others, He brought his guitar along, just in case. As a result, he took to heart the tips he got from some of his guitar heroes.

Over the years, he moved to different states, but wound up in New Jersey. Due to serendipity, he earned a position in the pit for the Spotlight Players in Matawan, and has been with them since 2015. He also is working with other high school drama productions. In 2018, he joined the staff at Most Music School in Metuchen where he teaches guitar and violin, and independently, piano, ukulele, bass and mandolin.

Jason is very happy he did learn his scales.
